The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Thomas Ruffin can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolences

Condolence From: Teshara Ruffin- Hooks(loving granddaughter)
Condolence: Grandpa, My Angel

Thomas Tucker Ruffin, my dear Grandpa, oh how precious is thy name
A smile so bright and luminous, this world will never be the same.

You stood proud, tall, majestic, an example for all to see
Your love for all was unconditional, without it where would I be.

From the first day we met, our hearts intertwined, an unbreakable bond was created
You were my buddy, best friend, confidant, and so much more
The exact way my God made it.

A love so pure and heartfelt, I never questioned your love for me
You ALWAYS told me, “I love you sweetie,” and said it with such care and sincerity.

A realist, jokester, a man of faith, and even a great cook too
A great listener, advocate, caregiver, and supporter
Oh yes you wore more than one shoe.

You always boasted endlessly how proud you were of me
You would say, “Sweetie I love you so much, you are awesome, and I want the world to see."

You always told me to look to God, keep the faith, which is such an essential lesson
You would say, “Keep pushing forward Sweetie, hold your head high” despite many of life’s transgressions.

In times of doubt and uncertainty u always eased my fears
My number one fan who always had my back, and was there to dry my tears.

U brought so much love, peace, and harmony to the family as a whole
To ensure unity among the tribe, was always your number one goal.

Our dinner dates, road trips, and seafood feasts, you have taught me so many valuable lessons
I will forever hold dear to my heart our two hour talks and daily gossip sessions.

You are the epitome of strong, a dignified man, so proper, prideful, and full of glee
As I look at myself, and dissect my personality, those same traits are also in me.

I love you Grandpa, my other half, until we meet again
I’ll continue to make you proud, hold things down, you best believe
Just like it’s always been!!

I love you with all that I am
Forever and Always
Love Eternally
Teshara

Condolence From: Jerrol Moore
Condolence: God loaned Mr. Tom Ruffin to this world and the world is better place because of time he spent with so many. Each of you, members of his family and the communities he lived, have so much to be grateful and thankful to because he lived. Your heartfelt sorrow is shared by so many and we will not pretend to know your deep feelings. However, keep your hearts open to all the wisdom and love he shared with you and God will strengthen your hearts in time. I guarantee you that God is a heart fixer and He will do what needs to be done for each of you as long as you keep the faith. We are praying with you and for you. Psalm 27 "We Are Family"

Condolence: In deepest sympathy it seems there's very little anyone can say or do to ease the loss of one who meant so very much to you but may you find some comfort in sorrow that you bear, just knowing there are many hearts that understand and care. May God bless you and comfort you in your time of sorrow. We will truly miss Mr Tom.

Love always,
Your neighbors🙏

Condolence: Grandpa I miss you so much. I have been waking up everyday and going to bed every night thinking about you. I cry myself to sleep every night thinking I will hear your voice again, thinking that I will see you this summer to eat our crabs. (Your favorite food) It brings me so much pain to write this . I ask GOD to please give my family the strength. You were the backbone to our family. I miss your voice and words of wisdom. You were the best grandfather (father) anyone can ever ask for. You were and still are everything to us.We love you. -grandchildren
