Life Story of Elaine Anna Robinson Richardson

Elaine A. R. Richardson was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Edward and Ethel Robinson. She was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System and upon graduating from Philadelphia High School for Girls, she pursued further courses and worked as a proof reader and typesetter for a well known printing firm.

She married David P. Richardson, Sr. and two lovely children , one of whom Elaine Jr., met her demise at a tender early age. He other child became a well known State Representative David P. Richardson, Jr., whom also preceded her in death.

After raising her family, she went back to complete her education at Temple University , with a B.S. in Education. She also did her graduate studies at Temple. For over thirty-four years she worked closely with the school system as: a volunteer, president of the Home & School Association, a teacher’s aide and finally she retired as a teacher.

Elaine a been a member of the African American Episcopal Union Church since birth. She was served as a member of the Senior Choir, Usher Board, the Concert Cathedral Chorale, the Lay Organization, and President of the Stewardess Board # 2 and other organizations.

She has been a surrogate mother to many young people in need throughout the years. She is blessed to have four lovely grandchildren and _____ great grandchildren.

She was known for her unique style and will be remembered for her trademark headbands. Her concerns for her people came from deep family ties with her parents
She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Ethel Robinson, her two children Elaine Richardson and State Representative David P. Richardson, her brothers Calvin Robinson and Dr Edward Robinson, granddaughter Ethel Robinson.

Left to cherish her precious memories are: sister n law Harriette Robinson; Daughter, Diane Sims; grandchildren Chryledine R. Wilson, Diane Joell, Nikki Richardson, David P. Richardson III, Dawn Sims, Obie Sims; 10 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren.
