Obituary for Theresa Anne Chamberlain

Theresa Anne Chamberlain, the oldest of 3 children, was born on July 29, 1959, in Philadelphia, PA., to Tyrone and Phyllis Chamberlain.
In her early years, Theresa was an active participant in the Salvation Army Sunbeam Program and the Boys and Girls Club in Frankford. At that time, she was also committed to Second Baptist Church. Theresa received her education in the Philadelphia Public Schools: Stearne Elementary, Harding Junior High, and later W.B. Saul High School of Agricultural Sciences. Theresa graduated with Honors in 1977. From there, she joined the United States Air Force in 1978, where she worked as a Secretary and later became the recipient of an Air Force Achievement Medal. While enlisted in the Air Force, she traveled and made homes in Korea, Japan, Texas and California. Theresa was honorably discharged in 1990. During her military career, she married Charles Jennings Jr. in 1980, and raised her oldest children, Deanne Sharon Renée Jennings (D) and Charles Anthony Tyrone Jennings III. Later after serving her country, she met Shawn Santos in 1993, and gave birth to her third child, Tiffany Latryce Marie Santos. Theresa worked with the United States Postal Service from 1993 to 2009. She then found it in herself to further her education by enrolling in the Art Institute of Philadelphia where she received her Associate’s Degree in Culinary Sciences and her Bachelor’s Degree in Culinary Management. She was a devout member of the Temple of Love & Praise where she fellowshipped and led as Secretary and member of the Usher Board. She later became actively committed at Change Church.
Theresa was beautiful, devoted, loving, generous, kind-hearted, diligent, competitive, sassy and resilient. She was also such a great and passionate cook. She loved great recipes and often made dishes to bring people together. In 2016, she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, and in 2017, rang the bell signifying the end of her radiation and chemotherapy treatments. Such a fighter, she thrived in Art Therapy as a coping mechanism and spearheaded her own charity initiative soon-to-be Non-Profit called Bags of Hope where she gave back to those going through what she had already battled. This will forever continue to live on in her memory.
On July 31, 2020, our loving Lord called Theresa home. She is survived by her mother, Phyllis Chamberlain, her children, Charles Anthony Tyrone Jennings III (Christina), Tiffany Latryce Marie Santos, and grandson, Charles “CJ” Jennings IV. She is predeceased by her oldest daughter, Deanne Sharon Renée Jennings, her father, Tyrone Chamberlain, and her sister, Tracey Benton. Theresa leaves seven siblings to cherish her memory: Eda Rodriguez, Leslie Benton, Pamela Simpson, Brenda Clacks, Thomas Benton, Sandi Henderson and Jason Benton. She also leaves a host of many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Theresa Anne Chamberlain will be deeply missed and remembered by all of her family and friends.
